About me…
Hello, my name is Gemma, and I am a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist based in Glasgow. Thank you for visiting my site. I know there are many therapists out there, and it can feel overwhelming to find someone who feels right for you.
I offer a welcoming space where you can explore whatever you’re experiencing in a supportive and understanding way. My aim is to hear and understand you in an empathetic, steady way that helps you navigate what feels important at your own pace.
Human connection and authenticity are at the heart of how I work. Everyone I meet brings something unique, and I value the honesty and depth that can emerge as people make sense of their world. I’m also mindful of the wider systems and pressures that can shape how we feel, and I hold space for the impact they can have- including the demands of academic environments.
How I got here…
Experience and Qualifications
I have over 17 years of experience in supportive roles across education and social care, walking alongside people through many different challenges. I also have lived experience (both personally and through those close to me) which has shaped the way I understand struggle, resilience, and the need for genuine connection. Eventually, training as a counsellor felt like a natural next step, allowing me to work with people in a more focused and intentional way.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Strathclyde. Additionally, I have also completed training in Online and Telephone Counselling, which means I am certified to work safely and effectively online and by phone
